원 리퍼블릭 OneRepublic - 카운팅 스타 Counting Stars 가사/해석 리믹스/커버

 

2002년 결성하고 2007년 메이저에 데뷔한 미국의 록밴드이지만, 팝 록, 얼터너티브 록 밴드에 더 가깝다고 할 수 있다.

원리퍼블릭의 멤버는 라이언 테더(Ryan Tedder. 보컬, 기타, 피아노), 드류 브라운(Drew Brown. 기타), 브렌트 커즐(Brent Kutzle. 보컬, 베이스, 키보드, 첼로), 에디 피셔(Eddie Fisher. 드럼), 잭 필킨스(Zach Filkins. 기타, 비올라), 브라이언 윌렛(Brian Willett. 키보드, 아날로그 신시사이저, 드럼, 퍼커션, 보컬)으로 이루어져 있으나, 메이저 데뷔 전 총 2번의 멤버 교체가 있었다(브라이언 윌렛은 메이저 데뷔 후 12년도 Good Life 투어 중 합류했다). 결성은 라이언 테더와 잭 필킨스가 콜로라도의 한 고등학교에서 했다. 이때의 밴드 이름은 Republic이었는데, 다른 밴드와의 혼동을 피하기 위해 One을 붙인 것이라고 했다.

 

지금까지 빌보드 차트 성적으로는, 2007년 Timbaland와 함께한 작인 Apologize, 2013년 빌보드 차트에 돌풍을 몰아친 Counting Stars가 모두 빌보드 2위까지 갔다.

 

Counting Stars는 밴드라는 점만 빼면 호불호가 갈리는 컨트리풍 노래를 요즘 시대에 잘 맞춰 흥행을 거두었다는 점에서 avicii와 비슷하다. 덤으로 유튜브 조회수가 2020년 11월 현재 30억 9200만 뷰이다.

 

2022년에 개봉한 영화 탑건: 매버릭의 OST인 'I Ain't Worried'를 발매하며 오랜만에 화제가 되었다.
